Music Together® Babies class 0-8m

This class is for parents/caregivers and their children under nine months. It will encourage the bonding of the parent and child through music play. Each child will discover the joyful world of music through singing, playing instruments, and exploring rhythm and movement. Families enrolled in this class have the opportunity to share these musical activities at home. The materials are designed to teach parents about the benefits of early exposure to music and movement. Materials include two compact discs of songs introduced in class, a music book for parents, and an appropriate rhythm instrument for each child. Each semester includes a new collection of music in a wide variety of musical styles. Classes meet for 30 minutes once a week for 16 weeks (fall & spring semesters) and 8 weeks in the summer. Class size is a minimum of 5 children and a maximum of 11 children.

Music Together® Mixed Ages class 0-4yrs

This class is designed for parents/caregivers and their children birth through four years of age. By grouping children of a variety of ages together, along with their adult caregivers and teachers, each child will discover the joyful world of music in a family setting. Developmentally appropriate activities include singing, playing instruments, and exploring rhythm and movement. Families enrolled in this class have the opportunity to share these musical activities at home. Materials include two compact discs of songs introduced in class, a songbook for parents, and an appropriate rhythm instrument for each child. Each semester includes a new collection of music in a wide variety of musical styles. In a mixed age class, the older children learn by leading the younger ones and the younger children will learn by observing their older friends. This class is 30 minutes long and will meet once a week for 16 weeks (fall & spring semesters) and 8 weeks in the summer. Class size is a minimum of 5 children and a maximum of 11 children.

Preschool class 3-4yrs

This class is for parents/caregivers and their children ages 3-4 years old. It will encourage the bonding of the parent and child through music play. Each child will discover the joyful world of music through singing, playing instruments, exploring rhythm, movement stories and creative thinking. Families enrolled in this class have the opportunity to share these musical activities at home. Materials include two compact discs of songs introduced in class, a music book for parents, and an appropriate rhythm instrument for each child. Each semester includes a new collection of music in a wide variety of musical styles. This class is 45 minutes long and will meet once a week for 16 weeks (fall & spring semesters) and 8 weeks in the summer. Class size is a minimum of 5 children and a maximum of 11 children.

Music Makers: At Home in the World 4-6yrs

Designed for children between the ages of 4-6 years, this class is part 1 of our two-year sequential program. This class will provide opportunities for vocal play, creative movement, listening discrimination, ensemble play and the introduction of orchestral instruments. Each child will develop a foundation in listening skills which leads to long term success with music reading. Students must be able to attend these 60 minute classes without their parents, although parents will participate during the last 15 minutes of class. This class will meet once a week for 16 weeks (fall & spring) and 8 weeks in the summer. Class size is a minimum of 5 and a maximum of 8. Materials include two folders with compact discs, flash cards and parent guide.

Music Makers: Around the World 5-7yrs

Designed for children between the ages of 5-7 years, this class is part 2 of our two-year sequential program. This class will provide opportunities for vocal play, expressive movement, listening discrimination and ensemble play. Each child will develop a foundation in listening skills which leads to long term success with music reading. Music Makers Around the World explores the music of the British Isles, Germany, Amerindian and African American Heritage. The collection features songs, dances, stories, rituals and customs of these cultures. At the end of year two your child will have a solid comprehensive music foundation which is an excellent preparation for instrumental study. Students must be able to attend these 60 minute classes without their parents, although parents will participate during the last 15 minutes of class. This class will meet once a week for 16 weeks (fall & spring) and 8 weeks in the summer. Class size is a minimum of 5 and a maximum of 8. Materials include two folders with compact discs, flash cards and parent guide.

Music Makers: At the Keyboard I & II

In this class your child will develop the skills needed to begin a successful musical journey toward piano playing and musicianship. This two year course is a transitional class from early childhood music into the study of an instrument. By learning to play familiar songs, this class makes the transition to the keyboard comfortable and fun for your child. Students must have a piano or keyboard at home for practice. This class meets once a week for 60 minutes with a minimum of 4 and a maximum of 7 students. Prerequisite: Music Makers Around the World 5-7yr old class.

Pre-School Piano Readiness

This class for 4 and 5 year-olds offers an introduction to the fundamentals of reading music and basic piano skills. More relaxed than private instruction, keyboard concepts are presented in a fun environment. This class meets for 45 minutes weekly. Students must have a piano or keyboard at home for practice.
