As soon as possible. From birth, children love music. Every child's development benefits from exposure to music and movement.
  2. Do we offer take home materials?
Yes, you will receive two CD's, a songbook and parent guide on the first day of class.
  3. Can I switch to a different class? Requests for class changes must be initiated within the first three weeks of the semester, and are made at the discretion of the Coordinator, depending on class availability.  Changes will not be accepted after the third week of the semester.
  4. Can I makeup a class? Yes, each student is allowed two makeup classes per semester for any reason. To schedule a makeup, please visit our online makeup scheduler (http://makeups.musictogether.com). The password will be included in your parent information packet.
  5. Can we bring a guest?
If you wish to bring a guest you must call at least 24 hours in advance. We will call you back if it is a problem.
  6. What is the duration of each semester?
Fall & Spring sessions are 16 weeks including Family Music Night. Summer session is 8 weeks.
  7. How do I enroll for the next semester?
Current students are able to enroll before new students to insure class preference. Please see the website for registration dates.
  8. How many children are enrolled in each class?
Class sizes vary from a minimum of 5 to a maximum of 11.
  9. Do parents stay in the class?
Parents remain and participate during the 30 and 45-minute classes. Please provide childcare for your other children. Parents join the last 15 minutes of the 60-minute class. You may bring your other children only for the end of the 60-minute class.
  10. What is Family Music Night?
A music class designed for the whole family. Family Music Night is scheduled only at the end of the Fall & Spring sessions and will take place at the TCU Ballroom.
  11. What if my child cannot sit still for the duration of the class?
It is fine if your child decides to move around during class. We do not expect children to sit still through the entire class. However, safety is very important, please do not allow your child to run in the classroom. When children wander from the circle, parents may take the activity over to them or gently bring them back to the circle.
  12. When will my child be ready for piano lessons?
When he/she can sing on pitch, keep a steady beat and move his/her body freely to music. We offer a group piano class only to children who have completed our Music Makers Around The World two-semester program. If you would like to start sooner you may call 817.257.7604 to inquire about a private piano teacher.
  13. What is the difference between Piano Readiness and Music Makers Keyboard I?
Piano Readiness is a group lesson for children ages 4-5 and has no prerequisite. MMK I is a course designed for children who have completed our two-semester Music Makers class; this group piano method builds on the material taught in the Music Makers at Home and Around the World classes.

Please feel free to call or e-mail with questions.
