Kara Bailey graduated Magna Cum Laude from Oklahoma Baptist University with a Bachelor of Musical Arts degree in piano and a minor in education. She is currently a first year piano pedagogy graduate student at TCU where she is studying under Harold Martina. Kara began playing the piano at a young age, taking lessons from her mother, Kristina Roberts, and participating in local and state festivals in Oklahoma. She was granted a piano scholarship to OBU where she received instruction from Dr. Carol Bell. She participated in the Oklahoma Music Teacher’s Association Collegiate Auditions, performed on weekly recitals, and gave a solo recital at the conclusion of her senior year. As a part of her undergraduate work, Kara took pedagogy classes and began teaching private lessons through the OBU Preparatory Department. She taught a group piano class for one year and taught private lessons for three years. While she was teaching at OBU, her students participated in local and state festivals and received superior ratings. In addition to her piano teaching, she assisted with Kindermusik classes in the Early Childhood Music Program at OBU. Kara is a member of Music Teachers National Association, Oklahoma Music Teachers Association, Sigma Alpha Iota, and Pi Kappa Lambda.
