Josie Moses, a native of southern Minnesota, completed her Master of Music
in Piano Performance from Texas Christian University in May, 2005, under the
tutelage of Mr. John Owings. She received her Bachelor of Arts degree in
Music from Gustavus Adolphus College located in St. Peter, MN, in June of
2000. She began her studies at Gustavus at the age of 17, as a participant
in the Post Secondary Options program. While at TCU and Gustavus, Josie was
an active soloist, chamber musician, and accompanist as well as a piano
teacher in the TCU Preparatory School and Gustavus Lab School. She was
awarded numerous scholarships and prizes including a TCU Graduate
Assistantship, the Jussi Björling Music Award, and was the winner of the
Gustavus Concerto/Aria Competition. Other recent performances include the
Aloha International Piano Festival held in Honolulu, HI, and the Mimir
Chamber Music Festival held at TCU.
An active teacher in both Minnesota and Texas, Josie has taught many prize
winning students. She is a member of Music Teachers National Association
and the Fort Worth Music Teachers Association. In the summer of 2001,
Josie completed her teacher training in the Suzuki Piano Method from Maria
Wong Rantapaa in St. Paul, MN. She enjoys incorporating both the Suzuki and
traditional piano methods in her studio.
