Born in Kharkov Ukraine, Irina Schuck received her violin education
at the Samara Conservatory, and later at the Moscow Tchaikovsky Conservatory. Since
graduating from the Kharkov Academy of Performing Arts, with a master
concert performer’s degree, Irina played with many different
orchestras in the former U.S.S.R.. While Irina was playing
with the orchestra in Riga, Latvia, the Soviet Union dissolved, and
she accepted the invitations to play in the western Europe.
Irina
was a member of Vorpommern Philharmonic Orchestra in Germany
and Malmö Symphony Orchestra in Sweden. As a
member of Controverse, an ensemble specializing in contemporary
music, Irina has traveled widely in Europe and Scandinavia. Irina
also recorded two compact discs with the German operetta orchestra, Flotten
Geist, and a compact disc of music for solo violin and harp
with the harpist Christine Huebner, both released under Bonton (Czech
Republic) label.
Irina
has taught students of various levels. Some of her advanced
students now study in prestigious music schools around the world
and play on Carnegie Hall stage.
Since
taking up her appointment with the TCU prep in 2006, Irina has appeared
frequently with the TCU Faculty and Friends Chamber Music Series.
while keeping an active performance schedule throughout the USA and
Europe. Irina is a current a member of Delaware Symphony Orchestra,
Plano Symphony Orchestra, Arkansas Symphony Orchestra, San Angelo
Symphony Orchestra and Abilene Symphony Orchestra.
