
Belinda Viesca
Cello
Belinda
Viesca, a native of Mexico City, completed her Bachelor’s degree
with Cum Laude honors in Cello Performance at the University of Houston.
She has also achieved a Master’s Degree in Cello Performance
from Texas Christian University. She has done pre-graduate studies
in Mexico City, Maastricht Conservatory of Music (Holland) and Louisiana
State University as well as post-graduate studies at the Boston Conservatory.
She has received the National Dean’s List Academic Honors
2003-2004 and 2004-2005, the Chancellor’s List Academic Honor
2004-2005, the “Phi Kappa Lambda Music Honors Association” Academic
Honor 2007 and the National Scholars Honors Society Academic Honor
2007-2008.
Belinda has performed as a soloist in Mexico with the Jose Pablo
Moncayo Youth Orchestra, “Vida y Movimiento” Symphony
Orchestra and the Symphony Orchestra of Pachuca Hidalgo also she
has given recitals in Mexico and the US. At the age of 17 won her
first orchestra job (5th chair) at the Carlos Chavez Symphony Orchestra.
She has played principal cello at the Jose Pablo Moncayo Youth Orchestra, “Vida
y Movimiento” Symphony Orchestra, the MIT Chamber Orchestra,
the Boston Conservatory Symphony Orchestra and the TCU Symphony Orchestra.
At the present, she plays principal cello with the San Angelo Symphony
and plays as section cello with the Irving and Plano Symphonies.
